Meet Tom McManus
He is the most recently added Cory's Audio Visual team member who is focused on our clients and the best possible service available to help audiences see, hear, and feel messages. We sat down with him to ask him about himself and more.
What is your new role here at Cory's Audio Visual?
Technical Service Manager - First-responder to solve any technical issues a customer may have with their audio visual technology.
Tell us about your previous work?
Originally a sound engineer from New York, I have spent the past 21 years in the US Air Force as a Communications Technician. This involved designing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a vast amounts of audio, visual, computer telephone, satellite, and radio systems. This time includes spending 4 1/2 years providing various communication capability for Presidential Support. I have also deployed twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan providing communication assessments and technical solutions under the most adverse conditions. Since retiring from the military, I have worked at The Chesapeake Energy Arena and Cox Communication Center providing audio, digital signage, telephone, internet and computer technical support to the Oklahoma City Thunder and all concerts and events scheduled.
Favorite part of the job so far?
The people. While serving my country, the community of Oklahoma City provided my wife and three children outstanding support and welcomed them to the city with opening arms. Since leaving the military, it has been my goal to give back to the community. Cory's Audio Visual has that same goal to support the community; every member within this company is an integral part to achieving that goal. I am greatly humbled by the decades of knowledge and experience within this company, and the welcome that the Cory's Audio Visual family has shown me.
Outside of work, you can likely be found....
Either out playing with my kids (son, 17 and twin girls,13), or out on the porch playing guitar.
