Meet Colby!

Colby has been with our team for just over a year. He stays busy wearing multiple hats for our integration team. We recently sat down with him to ask about his experience at Cory's Audio Visual, what you can catch him doing outside of work, and more!

1. What is your role on the Cory's Audio Visual team?

My role as Project Manager is ultimately to build good relationships with our clients and carry the “Cory’s Audio Visual Torch” as a project moves from a sales phase to an installation phase. My average day consists of communicating with clients, architects, and our own installation team about project details and deadlines. My job includes oversight of personnel, scheduling, job-site management, documentation and client training.

2. What is your favorite part of your job here?

My favorite aspect of my job here at Cory’s Audio Visual is the daily challenge of being in a role that requires such a diverse skill-set. On any given day you might find me designing an audio system, creating technical drawings in Autocad, or meeting with an existing client to talk about future projects.

3. Is there a project that really sticks out for you?

Currently we are installing a new sound system in the Hamilton Field House at the University of Central Oklahoma. We will be delivering an array of forty-two loudspeakers and powering the system with over thirty-one thousand watts of amplification. There have been many challenging aspects in providing this solution, from design to installation, but this is the most rewarding type of project for me. The end result will provide UCO with a comprehensive sound system that will serve thousands and thousands of people.

4. Any advice for those looking to get into audio visual integration?

Learn to communicate with people. Before one can be a good “communications technology” provider, one must be able to communicate with clients and co-workers. Also, learn to care about the details.

5. Outside of work, you can be found....

...at a locally-owned restaurant or coffee shop. Maybe a Father John Misty show, if he’s in town.
